Have you ever noticed that everyone is too busy to PTO?

A common misconception of PTO people, especially leadership, is that we have "spare time" to do this stuff, when in reality, all of the PTO leaders I have met have less "spare time" than all of those people who are TOO BUSY.

So who is this guy?

My name is Mark, and I am president of the Donlin Drive Elementary PTO, and I am not even a very good president.  (though I am good at sticking Boxtops to my face.)

What am I good at?  I own a real estate company and a business consulting agency.  I am very good at running my business, and helping other businesses succeed.

And from that, PTO Mania was born.  I am not a great PTO President, so to speak, but I am a GREAT PTO BUSINESS OWNER.  I created PTO Mania to help other PTO Leaders make the transition from PTO to CEO.

Most PTO's have the same concerns:

1.  Not enough money
2.  Not enough involvement from parents
3.  Not enough support from staff

We solved these problems at Donlin Drive in just 1 year.  How?

My PTO Philosophy has 3 simple rules:

1.  Our primary customer is our kiddos.  I only do this so that I can give every kid that walks through our doors an EPIC elementary school experience.  Better than mine, better than yours, and better than the kids one year before them.  Better every year.  My sole purpose is to serve those kids.

2.  As a school, we provide a great opportunity to help local businesses get their "name out there."  We do not ask for money EVER.  We provide great opportunities that local businesses are willing to invest to take advantage of.    

3.  Parents will get involved if I am ENTHUSIASTIC on a regular basis and reaching out consistently through email, social media, and in person.
